Mimosa Winner!

Thanks to everybody who played along with my Blogiversary Giveaway for a chance to win this bundle of Mimosa fat quarters.  Sorry I didn't get time to draw this last night, it's kind of busy round here and it slipped off my list, but this morning it's a priority!

After our very technical random draw I can tell you the winner is ....

Well done Eva!

I will email you shortly asking for your address and then next week when all the festivities settle I will pop these lovelies in the post to you.

Thank you to everybody for sharing your biggest stitching plan for next year.  I can tell it will be one to watch!

Celebrating 4 years of blogging

Today is the day when I say thank you for popping over here for the past four years and keeping me company, cheering me on and generally raising a few smiles as I sew my little heart out.

So without further ado, this year I am thanking one lucky reader with this absolutely gorgeous bundle of 6 fqs of Mimosa by Windham fabrics.  I did have trouble choosing just 6 of these Mimosa prints from the selection available at Cindy's Fluffy Sheep Quilting shop (just saying) because they all look fantastic but I hope you will want these ones enough to enter the giveaway even if your favourite Mimosa didn't get shortlisted.

To win the bundle you need to leave me a comment telling me what your biggest stitching plan for 2015 is.  Maybe it's a pattern you're dying to try, a technique you hope to learn or just a long time UFO/WIP you are determined to get stuck in to.  Whatever it is, tell me and, if you can, share a link to a picture or pattern to give me a little inspiration - like I really need more ideas?!?  I can only accept one comment per person, so in case of duplicate entries only your first will be valid.  Please include an email address if you are a no-reply blogger or I will have to redraw.

Giveaway is open internationally and entries close 18.00 GMT Monday 22 December 2014.

In the interests of sharing, here's the quilt I am most hoping to make next year.  I might break out my Bonnie & Camille fabrics box for this one!

Happy Blogiversary ... to you!

Today it is 3 years since I took a notion to create my blog - you know at the calmest, least busy period of the year ;-)  So, you know what that means, don't you?

Yep, goodies!

This year I've gone all novelty for the giveaway -

Three US fat quarters of Geekly Chic - cassettes in blue, glasses in yellow and records in grey - and 2m each of cream and white grosgrain tape measure ribbon.

Even if novelty fabrics aren't normally your thing, they are useful additions to your stash for use in Bees or, in this case, for those retro pressies (particularly for men).  And, they could be free and sent direct to you.

So, there you have it, a little blogiversary giveaway.  To be able to win you need to leave me a comment and I'd like to know what your favourite festive song (carol, secular or silly) is, just out of curiosity.  I can only accept one comment per person, so in case of duplicate entries only your first will be valid.  Please include an email address if you are a no-reply blogger or I will have to redraw.

Giveaway is open internationally and entries close 15.00 GMT Saturday 21 December 2013.

Just so you know, my favourite Carol is 'O Holy Night'  - the music and lyrics are so beautiful and evocative.  For sillies we love 'I want a hippopotamus for Christmas' by Gayla Peevey.  It's just nonsense really and think it's a favourite just because it was played by our local radio station for a few years when DS was little and it stuck.  If you don't know it, you should google it.

Right, get commenting peeps!

Blogiversary Giveaway!

Woohoo! Two years of thrilling you with my stitchy exploits and I reckon that means you now deserve a chance to win some goodies that have nothing to do with the festive season and will set you up with some lovelies for a new year of sewing.  Want to see what I have for you?

Ta da!!

What do you think? Fancy a chance (or two) to get your mitts on 5 gorgeous fqs of Liberty cotton (if I can let it go, that is)?

Ok enough teasing.  Here's what you have to do if you'd like to enter the giveaway:

1.  Take a wee look at the My Quilts page and leave me a comment to let me know which of my 2012 quilts is your favourite (I'm just curious).  Quilts no 7 - 22 are all from 2012.  AND leave me a link to a blog post or flickr pic of YOUR own favourite make of 2012, quilts or otherwise.  This way I can have fun noseying at your lovelies over the hols.  (You need to do both parts of this one to make your comment a valid entry.)
2.  For a second chance, blog about the giveaway and share the link to your post here.

Giveaway is open to all, but I will have to redraw if you are a no-reply blogger.  Comments will close at 15.00 GMT on Thursday 27 December 2012, and I will draw a winner that afternoon.

So, what are you waiting for?

Drumroll please ...

DS obliged this afternoon by drawing the winner of my little Blogiversary giveaway. So without further ado, the winner is ......

no 7 who was...

Congratulations Catherine!  I'll be in touch to get your address to send these lovelies to.

Thank you all for entering the giveaway, but mostly thanks for all your kind words and comments over the year.  I hope you all had a good Christmas and that the things you were most looking forward to lived up to your expectations.

Happy Boxing Day!

Blogiversary Giveaway!

Well, today's the day folks.  It's one year ago today since I started on this blogging road.  Want to see the incriminating evidence?

Yes, this is a pic of me the morning of the second day of my blogging life - impatient to get back at the wee blog page I'd created the night before, I didn't even get out of bed before I switched on the MAC!!!  The pic was sneakily taken by my hubby at some unearthly hour of the morning before the rush out to work, pre-school routine and anything else of actual relevance to my day.  In this instance I am glad that the picture quality is rubbish!

Anyway, something much lovelier to look at is this charm pack of squares from Bonnie and Camille's Ruby line -

And, if you were a follower of my blog at midnight last night this could be yours in my Blogiversary Giveaway!

I really wanted this giveaway to be for folks who are genuinely peeking in and commenting on the blog from time to time.  Sew Me is only a little blog with a few followers which is more than I had ever hoped for, and it just feels wrong to me that a totally open giveaway could result in someone who hasn't been part of my first year in any way winning when others have been so kind and encouraging and actually participated in my little online community.  So sorry to those of you who maybe do pop over here occasionally but aren't signed up followers, but if I don't know you're there I can't know to include you.

So, here's the deal - if you were a follower at midnight GMT last night you can enter my Blogiversary giveaway by leaving a comment to tell me what you are most looking forward to over the Christmas hols.

Comments will be closed on Boxing Day (26 Dec) at noon GMT and just for a little more occasion than using Mr Random Number Generator, I'll get my son to pull a comment from a Santa hat to decide the winner.  I do hope this will give those of you who have been kind enough to support my first year's blogging activities a chance to post a wee comment amid the busyness of the season.

Thanks to you all!

PS -  What I'm most looking forward to this Christmas is the Chinese meal we have with my parents, my brother and SIL and their 3 girls on Christmas Eve.  It's our tradition to meet up every year and for me it's the signal to relax into Christmas.  The shopping is finished, pressies are wrapped and mostly distributed and Christmas dinner preparations are made.  So we don our gladrags and meet for dinner where the kids are all so excited to be together and beginning to really anticipate the arrival of Santa!  Good food, family and magical memories!
