Making Me Smile - 50/52
The decorations are up! In spite of the grainy pics the room does look pretty, if a little more cluttered than my preference for the other eleven and a half months of the year.
I love our tree decorations and lights but have never ever been able to take a decent picture of them. There are handmade decorations that I love. decorations I bought on our honeymoon, my absolute favourite glass decorations (pears and long glass ice drops), sweet pressies from friends and of course a few of those "wouldn't part with them even though they do nothing for my tree" decs made by DS. A Christmas tree becomes imbued with memories and stories (a little bit of our history, I suppose) as we gather our bits and pieces over the years and I think that's what I love so much about it now.

Very pretty indeed! If you think that's cluttered you'd have a fit in our house even before the decorations go up ;)
ReplyDeleteYour house looks wonderful! I love the ornaments, my tree is a bit like that too, full of memories from the ornaments.
ReplyDeleteLooking very festive. I still bring out the knitted Christmas pudding I made back in school!! Jxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous tree and your room looks so cosy x
ReplyDeleteI think that is the best part of Christmas tree decoration: every year you get an other piece made in school, made by a friend and some are from a long time ago. I am sad my aunt lost my decorations I made. Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteYay for decorations. I guess it's time to dig out the Christmas koala...
ReplyDeleteI love decorations that fulfill all those different rolls. Way better than a designer tree in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI love your tree, and love trees with all the family history. We flirted one year with a "modern" tree with minimalist monochrome balls and it only lasted one year. Back to the clutter the next year with all the memories
ReplyDeleteyour room looks lovely, puts me to shame as I plan to do nothing this year, living on my own I am opting out but love seeing what others are doing, maybe it will inspire me to put some of my embroideries up
