Festive or fiasco?

Thought you might like to see my Christmas cake decorating efforts, you know for a laugh.

I can't decide whether it's passable or whether it just looks like my cake has a festive disease!?! The inspiration for this cake was MUCH more elegant, trust me!

If nothing else my family has had a laugh at my measly Christmas cake. As DS tried to tactfully say, it's not how it looks that matters.

It smells amazing, just looks peculiar.

  9. It's got measles!! Nothing that a big bow/ribbon can't fix, then they'll be laughing on the other side of their faces hehe! NB: I am one of those that picks all the icing and marzipan off and just eats the cake :) XXX

  10. I think your cake looks cool and anyway germs for decorations are very fashionable right now. I saw in a magazine the other day that there is some wrapping paper that looks like snowflakes from a distance but on closer inspection it's actually printed with the flu and cold virus.

DD2 has made almond paste and covered our cake today, so we shall ice it probably on Christmas Eve! You are way ahead of us!

  12. Sometimes I want to tell them to stop talking if they think this helps. On the other hand it is usually me who says it is all about taking part .. your cake looks lovely! And at the end it is all about the taste and I am sure this cake will be gone fast! Enjoy

  13. Your cake looks lovely! Last weekend I made a cake for my daughter's birthday and all I got as instructions was to decorate it with pink dots...well it didn't quite turn out the way she wanted and looked more like a dalek nipple cake! :o)

  14. I think it looks very Christmassy and not diseased at all! And your son is right, it is so how it tastes that counts.
