Celebrating 4 years of blogging

Today is the day when I say thank you for popping over here for the past four years and keeping me company, cheering me on and generally raising a few smiles as I sew my little heart out.

So without further ado, this year I am thanking one lucky reader with this absolutely gorgeous bundle of 6 fqs of Mimosa by Windham fabrics.  I did have trouble choosing just 6 of these Mimosa prints from the selection available at Cindy's Fluffy Sheep Quilting shop (just saying) because they all look fantastic but I hope you will want these ones enough to enter the giveaway even if your favourite Mimosa didn't get shortlisted.

To win the bundle you need to leave me a comment telling me what your biggest stitching plan for 2015 is.  Maybe it's a pattern you're dying to try, a technique you hope to learn or just a long time UFO/WIP you are determined to get stuck in to.  Whatever it is, tell me and, if you can, share a link to a picture or pattern to give me a little inspiration - like I really need more ideas?!?  I can only accept one comment per person, so in case of duplicate entries only your first will be valid.  Please include an email address if you are a no-reply blogger or I will have to redraw.

Giveaway is open internationally and entries close 18.00 GMT Monday 22 December 2014.

In the interests of sharing, here's the quilt I am most hoping to make next year.  I might break out my Bonnie & Camille fabrics box for this one!

  6. Congratulations on keeping going for 4 years. It takes time and effort to blog and I really appreciate the ones that have kept going. I reviewed my finish along list from January last year and embarrassingly I've not finished anything on there. The one thing I would like to finish is my Tailfeathers quilt as I've put many hours into the embroideries that I realy should piece the 1" sqares for the frames and get it finished.

  8. Congratulations on being four! My big plan for 2015 is to get round to sewing a quilt for my husband. We've finally decided on a pattern (Star Plus) and I think I have collected enough shot cottons for the stars so there is no excuse not to start it.

  9. I have 2 big plans. First, some major finishes - no bees in 2015 so plenty of time. Second. You may have seen my big fabric pull on IG. I untied 2 hoarded bundles and want to make a king sized quilt with them using Stereo by JayBird Quilts. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  10. I love reading your blog. Thank you. My plan for 2015 is to finish quilting all my UFO tops--about 5 to go, down from 50 a few years ago, before I got my longarm. (bekedams at yahoo dot com)

  11. Gorsh, that's purdy!! My only plans for next year are to do more FMQing - I see feathers and swearing in my future. *g* And I do believe Helen/Archie and I are having our own wee shawl-along but that's knitting. Heh heh. Everything else is totally open to inspiration - congrats on four years!!

I have to finally finish the bed quilt and the box for my C&G course, which I hope will not take too long any more (see different progress posts on my blog). Then I will be finishing an UFO or two, and using the many scraps I have accumulated in some simple scrap quilts. I'm looking forward to some simple sewing!

  20. Well done for reaching 4 years! I suppose I shall be about 6 months after you! Biggest sewing project- well, is it cheating to say, I hope to get the upstairs room ready to be a proper sewing / craft room, all organised and logical? with a bit of luck... It is partway there at the moment.. so everything is not strewn all over the house, I just cannot put my hands on anything just now!

  23. Congratulations on your 4 years of blogging.. I love the selection of fabrics, after the Christmassy things around they look, lovely and fresh. What I hope to try next year is to try some dressmaking. I used to make my own clothes years back but lost my confidence over years. See if I can relearn the skills I used to have, oh yes and finish off a few ufos that I have hanging around.

  26. Happy anniversary! I wish I had more time to quilt- maybe that should be my goal!! I really want to try some free motion quilting- I've been putting it off out of fear, but it can't possibly be as difficult as I've built it up to be. (I hope)

  27. one of my goals for 2015 is to get all my ufo's done and finished - quilts that is.. i recently retired from more than 30 years at a full time job, so 'time' can't be the excuse anymore.
i've made a bit of organizational headway by sorting and gathering my ufo's and separating them into bins WITH labels on them.... so i really will have NO excuse, right??
i see your apple core quilt, and i drool...... yep....that could easily be yet another ufo..... hahaha
    all in good time....
quilt as you go technique is on my mind a lot, so i i can see that in the new year too.
your fabric selection for the giveaway is lovely..... i can only wish...
    here's hoping....
    lovely blog..
    xo

  30. Sarah, it has been a pleasure to read your blog for almost the entire four years and to become real life friends. You are a pleasure to spend time with. Funnily enough my big plan for 2015 is to finally make a quilt for which I have had the pattern drawn up for the best part of this year but never had the time to make, and never knew which fabric to use - until Mimosa came along and I knew it was just the kind of vivid colours and contrasts I needed. So here's hoping I get this quilt made finally. I only have four commissions, and two holidays in the first three and a half months of the year. Surely I'll find the time!
