Lunch Aprons for Primary School

So, as well as planning for my eldest offspring to head away to university in September, I am planning for my youngest to start Primary School!

Aprons for school lunch!  Some fun polycotton prints from The Remnant House (just £2.99/mtr) and we have hippos, birdies and flamingoes on her aprons.  This is what is known as optimistic sewing.  I am hopeful that wearing one of these at lunch time might help keep her uniform clean for a second day's wear.  Living in hope folks!

Elf-made update

I know you've seen these before but I thought you might like to see the finished sewing I did for CT's Christmas stocking 'in situ' as it were.  I apologise that the pics are grainy night-time ones again but I can only ever seem to be free to get pics when it's dark!

Here's the main event -

The kitchen has her little oven gloves, tea towel, apron hanging on the side (I just added a Command Hook there) and I crocheted a little dishcloth, too. I'm so pleased with the kitchen window tulip view and relieved that I measured properly and it fits!

CT went with the flow for Christmas - you know, pots and pans on the go ...

... plenty of dinner to be made!

Dolly is now snug as a bug in her bed with pretty linens.  I kind of wish I could crawl under there myself for a bit of a nap after the exertions of the past week!

I love that the Ikea products leant themselves to a bit of prettifying and personalisation, mostly as an excuse for me to sew something for CT ;-)

Now that Christmas is over I'm looking for new excuses ....

The Night Before The Night Before

What else would you be doing the night before the night before Christmas except making an emergency pressie?  I hadn't planned another pre-Christmas post because I hadn't planned any more pre-Christmas sewing, but since I've been stitching away this evening I'm going to share it with you.

This is a gift for my niece who likes to help in the kitchen, but Nanny was unable to find an apron suitable for her size so tonight it was Auntie Sarah to the rescue.  (You really have to love Google and online tutorials!)

Voila - one reversible apron for a 10 year old granddaughter from her Nanny.

If you are interested, this was the tutorial I used.
